A price, a princess, and a promise.
Wolfie Young is a bloodling, a rare shifter born in wolf rather than in human form. Although he has trouble handling simple human interactions, the alpha soon finds his niche as the benevolent dictator of a pack of outcasts and misfits.
But while struggling to grow into his responsibilities, Wolfie falls into Crazy Wilder's trap. The grizzled old shifter's dominance ranks him above all other werewolves in the region, and Wilder shores up that position by tricking up-and-coming young alphas into promising undesignated future favors.
Wolfie flounders as he attempts to wriggle out from beneath Crazy Wilder's thumb without harming his clan. But he's soon left wondering --- does he really want to sever all ties after meeting a pack princess who turns out to be his opponent's enticing daughter?
This bundle contains the complete novel-length serial, including Bloodling Wolf, In Deep Shift, Two Scents' Worth, Feint of Heart, and Hair Apparent.
The Complete Bloodling Serial Episodes 15 A Wolf Rampant spinoff eBook Aimee Easterling
Bloodling (Episode 1): Bloodling was the second book I ever read by Aimee Easterling, right after Shiftless. I was intrigued by the idea of a bloodling, how they are born differently, and typically killed in a shifter pack. I wanted to understand about the alpha Wolfie Young and his pack. In this story you can see the unique bond that forms between Chase and Wolfie. This episode shows the reason why they are so close, and eventually end up starting a pack together. The author also brings in the character of Wolfie's older brother, Justin Young. In this story you see the start of Justin's bullying tendencies...not my favorite character. In Deep Shift (Episode 2): This story starts 7 years after Bloodling This episode starts with a note from Justin to Wolfie, letting him know of their father's passing. Justin, who is now alpha of the Young pack, demands Wolfie's allegiance. As we all know Wolfie from Bloodling, he never does anything to plan. :) This episode also brings in another main character, Chief Wilder, who is the leader of All-Pack. I was pleasantly surprised at what transpires with Wade, who supports whom, and about an oath this will possibly change all their futures. The author also brings in the character of Fen, a precocious 12 year old. I instantly loved her.
Two Scent's Worth (Episode 3): This story starts almost 1 year after In Deep Shift. This episode is mostly about Wolfie and his pack getting their first big job using computers and hacking software. As usual, nothing goes as planned. This episode also has Wolfie researching Chief Wilder and his family, especially his two daughters. After finding out one daughter has passed away and left a young son without a pack, Wolfie decides to buy the territory close to the son's home, hoping that when the time comes he will integrate into his pack. He also is able to track down Chief Wilder's other daughter, Terra, who had run away from home 2 year prior. Wolfie is confused as to why Terra calls to his wolf, so he keeps his distance...for now.
Feint of Heart (Episode 4): This story starts about 1 year after Two Scent's Worth. This episode mostly revolves around Wolfie, Fen, and Wade during the Winter Hunt. It is a game of hide and seek of the strongest alpha, Chief Wilder, hiding from the other Alphas. This year Wolfie wants to win by finding him before the dawn...hoping to get Chief wilder to approve his request for territory near his grandson. This is not my favorite story of the series, Wolfie makes a huge mistake in this...but I loved 14 year old Fen with her strong personality and strength.
Hair Apparent (Episode 5): This story is six years after Feint of Heart. The time has come that Wolfie has been dreading. The oath he made to Chief Wilder has been called into play. To make it interesting, this story intersects with Shiftless...with Wolfie finding Terra at the bookstore. I really enjoyed his side of the interaction with her. It was great to truly see how powerful Wolfie has become as Alpha...will his next title be chief?
My personal feelings: Aimee Easterling's stories draw you in as a reader. Her characters feel so real, like you are actually there rooting them on. I love how she shows humor, goodness, adversity and family ties. To those who have never read the Wolf Rampant series I envy you starting with these first!! For those that have already read it, I believe you will enjoy these episodes which give you a greater understanding and an in-depth look into the characters of his pack and of course his enemies. I hope you enjoy this prequel series as much as I have.

The Complete Bloodling Serial Episodes 15 A Wolf Rampant spinoff eBook Aimee Easterling Reviews
This is a great addition to the Wolf Rampant series. I honestly wish I would've read this one first before the other one so it would've just blended together (I'm OCD like that lol) but this story was great.
This is the second book by this author that I've read. Though I was pleased to see her use of fiction technique had improved, making the story and characters more engaging, the use of vulgarity had grown in ways that wasn't attractive or warranted. Also, the one sex scene was unnecessarily graphic and detracted from the story rather than enhancing it. It read as though it was meant to appeal to those who desire graphic sex without substance instead of as though it was meant to enhance the story itself. Very unappealing. Everything before and after that was engaging though. If this book is any indication that the author is utilizing more vulgarity and adding unnecessary graphic sexual content, I'm not sure I'll be reading any more of her work. Still debating.
Wolfie is the perfect character for those who love characters based on purity of heart and loyalty to a fault. Wolfie's nature makes me fall in love with every one his stories. He's a strong alpha who rules with his heart and allows the power of respect and friendship to sway his opponents and pack members instead of iron alpha commands. So if your looking for a solid and warm pack story Wolfie is your man!
I enjoyed this addition to Aimee Easterling's werewolf world. It was a kind of behind-the-scenes look at Wolfie, and in large part Wolfie's interaction with Terra's family. Wolfie was much more calculating and well-informed that way than Terra knew, but he didn't abuse his power. Even Wolfie's first incident of alpha control over Terra in "Shiftless" is explained as an instinct, not planned out. That incident had disturbed me in "Shiftless." The reader gets to see how Wolfie grew as an alpha. Some of these stories can be read before "Shiftless."
His name is Wolfie. He was shoved out into the cold on the day he was born because he was different. This is the story of how he survives and is the Alpha of his wolf pack. This is a story of friendship, love and making right decisions even when it is hard. The characters are well written and you will grow to love Wolfie and his pack. I am glad to be able to read the entire series in one book. Defiantly a book worth reading.
After just finishing the Wolf Rampant series, I knew that I had to read this serial about Wolfie's origins. As before, I enjoyed the author's deft weaving of plot and characters. Several of the pack members were more fully fleshed out, as was the biggest antagonist Crazy Wilding. I strongly recommend reading the Wolf Rampant series first, then this. Definitely worth the price and time!
It is true that books need references and I have read enough books in 60 reading years to have read, a lot. Some books I have skipped because I have just read a book or a series in the same genre. I am learning that this does not matter. I easily reread this series just so that I could give a decent opinion and I can say that the second time in less than a month was well worth it. There are books I have read over and again. In a while I will read this series again, even if there were not a wrong word used on the very first
page. Wolfie is great. This is a good book to buy for a young reader.
